Since I was an infant, my parents nurtured my artistic spirit, surrounding me with drawing supplies and encouraging me to explore the world through colors and shapes. Those early years were filled with joy and creativity, where every scribble was a celebration of imagination. But as I entered elementary school, the landscape changed dramatically. It was a place where creativity was stifled, where teachers failed to understand my passion, labeling me as uninterested or slow simply because my mind danced to a different rhythm. The only solace I found was in the moments when I could escape into art with my friends, creating and drawing, transforming blank pages into worlds of our own.
In high school, I truly found my rhythm, immersing myself in every art class available. Photography, painting, and a newfound love for graffiti became my outlets, allowing me to express myself in bold and colorful ways. My artistic talents were recognized by local newspapers, and I shared my passion by teaching art classes to kids after school. This journey of artistic exploration continued into university, where I delved deeper into digital art, mastering the medium and aligning my skills with the evolving demands of the tech industry.
My twenties were a whirlwind of exploration, living in cities like Montreal, New York, Miami, Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles. All, while traveling the world in between. I crossed paths with incredible artists, musicians, painters, sculptors, actors, photographers, and 3D artists, each encounter enriching my creative journey.
The label "Fucking Creative" wasn't something I came up with on my own; it was a gift from friends who couldn't quite grasp the idea of being an artist or "creative." At a business summit, amidst a sea of suits, my best friend introduced me as his "Fucking Creative friend," and it just felt right. I embraced it, realizing it perfectly captured my essence... The following day, I made a bold statement by making and wearing a sweatshirt screen-printed with "FUCKING CREATIVE" across the chest. The reaction was immediate; people approached me with a newfound enthusiasm "Who is this person" eager to connect with the man behind the audacious label.
So here I am, embarking on a quest to connect with my tribe through "Fucking Creative," a podcast that seeks to uncover the childhood stories and curious thoughts of other creatives. It's a journey to discover how they became who they are today: Fucking Creatives, just like me.
